Biological and Soft Systems Research Sector at Physics at Work 2018
Biological and Soft Systems Research Sector
In our exhibit, we will showcase examples of polymers and gels. Students will see and participate in a range of experiments explaining their definition and properties. During the course of the presentation, the students learn about soft matter physics, material properties of polymers, and how chemical reactions can alter those properties. The versatility of polymers make them a very useful material for both synthetic applications, e.g., plastics, as well as for biology and nature, e.g. proteins and DNA.
